In 2016 Kyle Slater is a tech innovator, an entrepreneur with his own company and bringing a product to market with the help of $2.5m Aus raised through a Kickstarter campaign.

In 2011 he won the IET's Present Around The World Competition aged just 25.

In 2015 three undergraduates won the IET Global Challenge and have now started their own company and built a prototype of their ground-breaking product.

Global Challenge

The IET 2017 Global Challenge is now open for registrations. The challenge is to create an on board device, which can accurately and actively gauge the load weight in a Toyota Land Cruiser or similar vehicle.
